About Prims

Prims actually measure how much "stuff" you have in your region, by having more prims you can have more stuff, if you want to build a huge space city for instance, 7500 prims is not going to be enough, if you wish to have a simple log cabin and some trees, 10k is fine.

You can always add more prims later if required. It's a good way for the grid to manage server requirements. 

Most people opt for the 1.2 Million prims pack because then you will never face any limitation but the 7500 prim pack for ocean regions. You can mix and match prim packs and upgrade at any time.
